Engineer To Artist?

A man who works with his hands is a laborer; a man who works with his hands and his brain is a craftsman; but a man who works with his hands and his brain and his heart is an artist.”

Yes, I believe this sentence very much. Few days back, it was a saturday, I was returning after my TT game. I heard some drums and music and somehow I was driven to that chaos. To my surprise I saw 4 guys, 2 playing guitars and the other 2 playing drums. Drums made of all the waste household material. And I couldn't believe what I was hearing!! So much of enthusiasm, so much of vigor, such a perfection and so much of passion.. The output was simply mind blowing! I dont understand music much but can surely point out if somethings out-railed. But, these guys had an amazingly synchronized and disciplined performance.. These were THE Artists.

That moment I realized, Passionate people inspire me. I always find artists passionate. No doubt, I always wished to be an Artist.
Being an Engineer, I came across many intelligent brains, talented people, smart asses. But trust me, no one inspired me as much as I got inspired by a road painter, right across the corner, sketching a tree! He was deeply involved in his thoughts and his sketching and his work. Ah! I wished if I could feel what he was feeling.

Can I wish to have THIS feeling forever?
Can I do ONLY those things which I LIKE?
Will I be able to satisfy my thirst of becoming an artist?

Time has all the answers.

Cricket - An entertainment industry.

"Pune and Kochi will be joining IPL in 2011".. "Saif-Kareena trying to buy an IPL team".. There is no prize to guess that Cricket - a sport - is becoming a part of Entertainment Industry.
Cricket, a game of sportsperson, a game of gentlemen, a game of talent .. is suddenly changed into a game of charm, a game for money, a game of Prosperity! The change is so sudden that its really hard to find out if its good or bad!

Stars from entertainment world are jumping in, Industrialists and businessmen are pouring money like a beer in the beer-fest. Cheergirls, DJ playing music in the stadium, super awesome prizes has not only attracted more and more people but also invited retired players to continue playing short version Cricket..

Can you hit the ball? Could be the only question asked to the batsmen. And no wonder people gets entertained by watching the actual game as being watching highlights.

All I can say is, Cricket has reminded us the fact - Bikti hai Duniya, Bechne wala chahiye ..
Thing to learn! Thing to remember!

Duck Tales!

"Life is like a hurricane here in Duckburg
Race cars, lasers, aeroplanes - it's a duck blur
You might solve a mystery or rewrite history

Duck Tales, Oo-oo"

Today's night was a Duck Tales night.
The first and one of the most charming cartoons of my life. The cartoon which I liked the most and still is my favorite! :-)

Be it the greedy Scrooge McDuck, or his witty nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie, the too bright pilot Launchpad McQuack, the scientist brain Gyro.. all the characters are just amazing!

Treasure hunts, Gold search, Adventure trips.. these hypothetical stories just catch you up.
Right from deepest oceans to harsh deserts, from wild and beastly forests to unexplored burmuda triangle, DuckTales takes you on a trip in each episode.

Based on Carl Banks comics, Walt Disney pictures has done an incredible job of bring this thing to world. I enjoyed it when I was a child, enjoyed it today and will surely enjoy DT when i'll see it after 10 years..

Santa Monica!

Nice sunny morning.. Wow!! A perfect day for a beach trip!
Why don't we just go to Santa Monica? Oh yes, few phone calls and messages, 2 pm and a group of 9 guys are off to the beach. (This is one good thing about planning with guys, they don't take much time to get ready :D ) .

"Santa Monica". Almost 2 hours of comfortable journey and we were almost rubbing our eyes for what we saw!

The beach was beautiful and was dusted with soft golden sand all around.. The warm sand gave a perfect sunbath after hearty playing in the water.

Playing in water, singing songs, doing weird exercises, making fun, ogling natural beauties and the sand mermaid.. the time just flew off!

Santa Monica is joined with Venice beach. There's a small entertainment area in between them, created right over the sea on a raised platform. Few cool rides, food joints add charm to the beaches in the evening.
A nice walk around the beach.. soothing sunset.. nice music in the background.. gives a divine feeling and surely freshens your mind!

An ideal trip for a summer evening!

Earthquake!!

Ah!! It was 4 in the morning.. Me, Viral and Jay were trying to pass time (Jay was studying which I got to know much later..). I was suddenly shaken up with something unusual!

The window panes rocked.. the walls were thumping.. the complete house was shaking! "O Shit!", Viral exclaimed. Within moments, ever before I could catch my breath and understand what was happening, that thing stopped. I didn't move for few seconds till realized that I'd just experienced my FIRST EARTHQUAKE in California!!

Googling was done and found out that this one was a 4.4Ritcher scale. The epicenter was 10miles from our place. 'Hmm, Not Bad!'.

My first Blog..

Hello Dear Friends,
This is my 'first' blog. THE FIRST BLOG!
Its 4:30 am and i'm just done with munching a sandwich. :-) Student life is fun!

Spring break is going on! Plenty of things planned.
My first semester in University of Southern California is treating me well (atleast till now :P) .

I am really impressed by the way of teaching things here. The freedom given to the professors, which permits them to teach in their way, is no wonder the main reason for such a dynamic building of an individual.

My three subjects this semester, Web Technologies, Animation for Games and Computer Graphics are all interesting and addictive. This semester has introduced me to 2 new softwares. Maya and Processing. I'm sure I'll be dating these two for a long time. :-)
